About the Driver/Owner |
| |
Dave Modder has been interested in Jet Cars since he watched his first races at Great Lakes Dragway in Union Grove, Wisconsin when he was 14 years old. |
| Dave can attest that if you never lose sight of your goals and are willing to work hard enough, even the highest goals can be reached. |
It took 22 years from the time Dave watched his first Jet Car show until he was the owner of the Dragon’s Fyre. Dave has been the Driver/Owner of the car for 12 years now. |
Dave had some great help along the way from Bill Gnegy and Ancel Horton. In fact, Ancel Horton was one of the drivers that Dave watched as a young man at Union Grove. It was a privilege to have Ancel and Bill sign off his Jet Exhibition License at the Texas Motorplex. |
For Full-Time employment Dave is a Captain for a Major Airline, and has been flying for 24 years. Dave has flown everything from Crop Dusters to Lear Jets, and now has over 11,000 hours of flight time. Dave is also a Licensed Aircraft Mechanic, certified to work on Airframes as well as all types of Engines. |
Dave and the car have been featured on ESPN, ESPN 2, Fox Sports Network and Horsepower TV. Print media include HOT ROD Magazine, and IHRA Drag Review. |
In addition to Drag Racing and Air Shows with the Dragon’s Fyre, Dave is always happy to participate in Charity Events and Car Shows. Feel free to contact Dave for your special event. |
